Welcome to the last month of 2024, the year of divine detours and redirection. Despite the retrogrades, and tons of squares, December shows no sign of a slow down in this year long trend of realignment, growth, and a focus on healing. Grab your birth chart and lets dive in!
December 1st New Moon in Sagittarius:
The second month in a row we have a new moon on the first day of the month (last month we had the new moon in Scorpio on November 1st). There's something very satisfying about beginning the month on this fresh page despite Mercury being retrograde in Sagittarius. This is an opportunity to reflect on the bigger picture and look for the adventure in your life. The house ruled by Sagittarius in your chart will have the theme of this new moon for you. Because of the retrograde we may have past dreams sneak back in that we had shelved or forgotten. I think this is a great time to allow yourself to float around in your subconscious and see what shows up. Was there somewhere on your bucket list you always wanted to go? A class or spiritual calling you are reminded of? Aspirations could be shifting, or revisited.
December 6th Mars Retrogrades in Leo:
Pull up your chart and locate the houses ruled by Leo and Cancer. This is the beginning of an epic energetic saga between these two signs. Leo connects us to our playful, creative, self expression. Our heart centered inner child. Mars retrograding through here can have us feeling a pull back in confidence and motivation in the house ruled by Leo. This could be more or less frustrating and slightly defeating. On a positive note, we can use this as an opportunity to streamline what energy we do have for our goals and focus ONLY on what we have passion for. It will be difficult to feign drive if we're just not that into it. This retrograde will dip into Cancer on January 6th, 2025 (more on that next month).
December 7th Neptune direct in Pisces & Venus moves into Aquarius:
If life has lacked a certain something, you can look forward to a splash of glitter with Neptune going direct. It's as if it's all been just a little too real! Imagination, inspiration, and a dash of delulu enters the atmosphere once again after many months of us staring at a bland and beige horizon. I always think of Neptune as giving Willy Wonka energy, its a vibe! This could also help us feel more in tune with our spirituality and connection to humanity. Combined with Venus in Aquarius? Ooh this is funky! Definitely going to help balance out the Jupiter retrograde blahs. This energy could have us in some really random social situations over the holiday season and I would just lean into the weird.
December 15th Mercury direct & Full Moon in Gemini:
This is screaming information overload to me! Mercury, planet of communication, short distance trips, gadgets, going direct the same day as a FULL MOON IN GEMINI? Gemini the talker, communicator, mastermind, journalist, student, errand runner, is the social rubix cube! This is like a total over share? Or a potential major media leak, maybe a backlog of info being dumped? I'm visualizing a printer spewing 18 pages suddenly, after being offline. In your own chart, find Sagittarius and Gemini there's a story unfolding here where you can get some clarity. It may not happen exactly on the 15th, but watch the dates surrounding for some insight or a burst of information/communication.
December 21st Sun moves into Capricorn & Winter Solstice:
Capricorn energy enters the scene with its head on straight to get us to the finish line of 2024. We can really align with this energy and celebrate the death of our old selves and shed away even more baggage with the Winter Solstice. Pluto has finally left Capricorn and this is a beautiful time to honor the incredible journey we've been on for the past 16 years.
December 29th Chiron direct in Aries:
Oh the healing we've been doing! Think back to the end of July, that's when Chiron went retrograde. Who are you today? With the North Node in Aries AND Chiron, there's been a big emphasis on this collective wound. We are working through some major ego and leadership issues. With Chiron direct I feel like we are going to see some amazing examples of healed and authentic leaders rise up within our own communities as well as the world stage. It makes me think of The Lion King, when Simba gets his shit together and gives Scar the boot.
December 30th New Moon in Capricorn:
YES! I LOVE this New Moon! This is the first chance we've had to make some super solid and level headed intentions in a while. Forget a New Years resolution, I would be making my lists and manifestations on this day. Capricorn gives us something we can stand on, and sustainable, practical results. We are on the threshold of a new reality. Sink your teeth into this new Moon. Take your time, get clear. Use earth elements in your meditations and visualization practices, whatever you do that really helps you lock in. 2025 is right around the corner and we will never be the same.
